Bright Beginnings Shopping Days

Volunteers are needed to support YMCA Bright Beginnings shopping trips in August. The YMCA Bright Beginnings program is one of Altria's signature volunteer events. 

Join your colleagues in the Richmond community in support of Altria's ongoing commitment to support Richmond Public Schools, the YMCA of Greater Richmond and its YMCA Bright Beginnings program.  YMCA Bright Beginnings is a school readiness program that helps disadvantaged children with the challenges of a new school year by providing new clothes and school supplies giving them the confidence and the tools they need to learn.

The YMCA Bright Beginnings program pairs you up with a child in a Target store, in a group setting, to assist them in back to school shopping for clothes and shoes.  Altria covers the cost for all clothing and a meal for the child during the shopping trip. All that is needed is your time.

Below is the schedule of shopping days:

• Monday, Aug. 1, Broad/Libbie, 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.

• Wednesday, Aug. 3, Laburnum, 8:30 – 11:30 a.m.

• Monday, Aug. 8, Broad/Libbie, 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.

• Wednesday, Aug. 10, Broad/Libbie, 8:30 – 11:30 a.m.
