SEPTEMBER 2024 MEETING Details

SPEAKER:  Billy Gifford, CEO, Altria.  

Billy Gifford is the Chief Executive Officer for Altria Group. Billy has served in numerous senior leadership roles during his more than 25-year career at Altria, including most recently Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer where he was responsible for Altria's financial functions as well as its core tobacco businesses, sales and distribution business and Consumer & Market Insights team.

Since joining Philip Morris USA in 1994, Billy has served in numerous leadership roles in Strategy & Business Development, Finance, Marketing Information & Consumer Research and as President and Chief Executive Officer of PM USA. Prior to that, he was Vice President and Treasurer for Altria Group where he led various functions including Risk Management, Treasury Management, Benefits Investments, Corporate Finance and Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis.

Prior to joining PM USA, Billy worked at the public accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand, which currently is known as PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Billy previously served on the Board of Directors of Anheuser-Busch InBev. He is a Catalyst CEO Champion for Change.

TOPIC:   State of the Business / Member Appreciation Reception.

NOTE:  You can attend this meeting in person On-site or Virtually Online.  When you register, you will select Online Virtual or In Person attendance. 

Registration deadline for both Online Virtual attendance and In Person On-Site attendance is Monday, September 16th. 

ONLINE VIRTUAL ATTENDANCE

Microsoft Teams will be used for online virtual attendance.  Attendance cost is free if you are attending virtually.

  • Registration is required for Online virtual attendance.
  • A computer or tablet with an internet connection or smart phone is required for the following steps.  If you cannot connect through the internet, a regular telephone can be used for an audio-only connection.
  • You must check your web site profile and make sure your email is present and correct. 
  • You will receive an invitation for the event from PMARA.  You must accept the invitation.  It will then be available on your calendar.
  • A day or two before the meeting you will receive a reminder.  In the reminder will be links to helpful videos on how to start your session, general information about video conferencing, and what you must do during the conference.
  • Only members who have paid their 2024 dues are eligible to participate.

ON-SITE IN PERSON ATTENDANCE

In person space for this great event is limited so register early. Registration for in person attendance is limited to 100 members and guests.  Reception includes wine, cheese, and hors d’oeuvres.  A walking tour of the newly renovated Headquarters facility is available before or after the State of the Business presentation.  If you would like to take the tour, an option will be available when you register.  You can register for a 45 minute walking tour either before or after the presentation.

  • COST:  $15 for members, $25 for guests (New Members entered into a special raffle)

OPTION 1)   On-Site In Person Attendance

If you haven't already paid your 2024 dues, you must pay your 2024 dues before registering -

  • Pay On-line (log in first)  Once your dues are paid, you can register and pay for the event online.

Make out a check payable to: 'PMARA' for $20.00 dues (plus event cost if you wish) and mail it to our Treasurer, Charlie Krausse.

Mail a check payable to: 'PMARA' and send it to our treasurer (see address in Option 1)

Arrival and Parking:

All Guests should arrive at Altria Headquarters using the West Gate Entrance off of Forest Avenue. If entering from Broad Street onto Forest Avenue, the West Gate is the 2nd gated entrance on your left. Security will tell you where to park.  Enter the building on the North Side Main Entrance and Visitor Lobby.  You must bring a valid photo ID.  A visitors badge will be provided by ALCS Security at the west gate. If you have a PMARA Retiree Badge, you can use that badge as a name badge.

Agenda:

1:00 pm: Guest Arrival begins.  Those who will be taking the Before Meeting HQ walking tour can arrive at 1:00 pm.  Those arriving to attend the State of the Business presentation should arrive between 2:00 and 2:15 pm

1:15 - 2:15pm: Before Meeting Headquarters Walking Tours

2:00 - 2:15pm:  Those attending in person should check-in at the registration tables in front of the Auditorium

2:15 - 2:30pm: Online logon for those attending virtually

2:30 - 3:30pm: State of the Business presentation in HQ Auditorium followed by a brief PMARA business meeting, raffle, and welcome to new members

3:30pm: Online logoff for virtual attendees

3:30 - 5:00pm: Reception in the Breezeway including wine tasting.  Breezeway Bar closes at 4:30 pm

4:00 - 5:00pm: After Meeting Headquarters Walking Tours
